BEACHES AND WATERSPORTS
Hua Hin boasts a five mile-long sandy beach on the Gulf of Thailand, stretching from Hua Hin town centre to Khao Takiab. A number of hotels and concessions along the beach offer watersports: water-skiing, jet skiing, sailing, windsurfing and parasailing. Neighbouring Cha Am and Pran Buri also have spectacular beaches.
THINGS TO DO IN HUA HIN
Hua Hin offers the visitor a vast range of activities, from relaxing on the beach, watersports, and playing golf on one of the many international standard golf courses. There are also a number of day trips to be enjoyed. The list below is certainly not exhaustive!
GOLF
Hua Hin is famous for its golf courses; there a full-size golf course next to the wedding venue, Royal Hua Hin Golf Course, a mature links style course from the 1920s. It is Thailand’s oldest golf course and still one of the best. Other golf courses nearby include Palm Hills, Black Mountain and Majestic Creek. All are open to the public.
SHOPPING
Traditional Thai handicrafts and textiles are available to purchase in Hua Hin from local vendors, and there is now a large shopping mall (Market Village). There are branches of international chemists (Boot’s and Watson’s) and a variety of supermarkets stocking an international selection of groceries. Visiting Hua Hin’s night market during your stay is a must.
ELEPHANT SHOW
There are a few elephant villages in Hua Hin, one with an elephant show and offering elephant rides.
HUA HIN HILLS VINEYARD
Approximately 40 kilometres from Hua Hin town is a vineyard where the award-winning Monsoon Valley wine is made. There is a wine bar and bistro in the Sala.
KHAO HIN LEK FAI
Translated as ‘Flintstone Hill’, there are several viewpoints from the top looking down on Hua Hin town, as well as a public park. The wedding venue is at the bottom of the hill.
SPAS
The world-famous Chiva-Som Health Resort is in Hua Hin, and Evason Six Senses Spa is in nearby Pran Buri. In addition, many of the major hotels have spa facilities.
DAY TRIPS
Pala-U waterfall is 60 kilometres west of Hua Hin in the Kaeng Krachan National Park and has superb views from the top.
Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park is 60 kilometres south of Hua Hin with limestone mountains, mangrove swamps, beaches and caves.
