Getting there
Hua Hin is Thailand’s oldest beach resort and official residence of the King and Queen of Thailand, situation on the Gulf of Thailand approximately 200 kilometres south of Bangkok. It is easily accessed from Bangkok via recently upgraded highways, and can also be reached by rail or air.
Travelling to Hua Hin from Bangkok
BY CAR (2½ to 3 hours)
Drive along highway 35 (Thon Buri - Pak Tho) passing through Samut Sakhon and Samut Songkhram provinces, then take highway 4 to Hua Hin.
BY TAXI OR LIMOUSINE (about 3 hours)
Available from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport or from your hotel. Expect to pay between 2000 to 3000 baht.
BY BUS (2½ to 3½ hours)
Hua Hin Pran Tour operates a regular air-conditioned bus service from Bangkok’s Southern Bus Terminal to Hua Hin. Tickets cost under 200 baht one-way.
BY TRAIN (up to 5 hours)
Regular departures from Bangkok’s Hualamphong station, with fares from around 50 to 200 baht.
BY AIR (40 minutes)
SGA Airlines provides daily flights from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport to Hua Hin. Tickets cost around 7000 baht for a round trip.
